Dilini is a UK-qualified lawyer who joined Gateley in 2023 as a senior associate for employment. With over a decade of experience, Dilini has advised various businesses on complex legal issues relating to employment and pensions law, ranging from start-ups to multinational companies. She has also provided guidance in relation to restructuring, reorganisation, redundancies, transfer of employees, global mobility solutions, senior executive appointments, and terminations. 

Dilini is well versed in all aspects of non-contentious employment law, as she has routinely advised on and drafted employment contracts, director service agreements, consultancy agreements, business protection agreements, non-disclosure agreements, employment policies, and procedures. She is also instructed on employee benefit design matters, with a particular focus on employee share option schemes. Furthermore, she has advised on the employment aspect of numerous high-profile mergers and acquisitions in the UAE. Dilini’s practice also encompasses contentious matters for employers and employees before the local labour courts, the DIFC courts and the ADGM courts concerning bonus disputes, whistleblowing, and discrimination.   

Dilini has significantly contributed to the UAE’s legal landscape by delivering bespoke employment training to HR professionals on the UAE labour law reforms, terminations, DEI, and business protection. She has also done so by writing several articles and leadership pieces, including a practice note for lawyers regarding employee share options in the UAE. She was deemed a “rising star” in UAE Employment law by the Legal 500 rankings in 2022 and 2023.
